E-Passport Services Now Accessible Across Pakistan Alongside Fee Structure Disclosure

In an endeavor that underscores the commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology for the benefit of its citizens, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Interior, has taken a monumental stride by extending the availability of e-passports to all passport offices across Pakistan. This strategic expansion follows the successful inauguration of e-passports in the federal capital, Islamabad, earlier this year. Originally reserved exclusively for diplomats and government personnel, the e-passport service has been gradually unrolled to encompass the residents of Islamabad and now, its reach spans the entire nation.

The Directorate General, which has consistently displayed its dedication to leveraging innovation to improve citizen services, recently took to X – the platform formerly identified as Twitter – to proudly announce a noteworthy accomplishment: the printing and dispatch of the inaugural passport application facilitated through the Inland Online Application system. This remarkable achievement not only showcases the efficiency of the new online application process but also signifies a step forward in digitizing and streamlining governmental services.
